Not every lighting upgrade needs to be complicated. Sometimes the best recommendation is the most straightforward solution.
That was the case at L'Viv Condominium, where we replaced a tennis court's aging and flickering metal halide fixtures with a modern LED solution that delivered exactly what the MCST needed, without unnecessary spend.
The Requirements
The management council at L'Viv had a clear priority: upgrade the tennis court lighting from 1000W Metal Halide Bulbs to something more efficient and reliable, and do it sensibly.
Metal halide has been the standard for outdoor sports courts for decades, and many condominiums across Singapore are still running on it today. When the fixtures are new, they perform reasonably well. But over time, light output degrades, colour rendering drops, and the warm-up delay becomes an increasing frustration for residents who just want to get on court.
Our Recommendation
Following a site assessment, we recommended the BRITE Post-Top LED Tennis Court Light in standard specifications, built for recreational sports courts in residential settings.
For a single condominium tennis court with moderate usage, standard grade is the practical choice. It delivers the light quality and uniformity residents expect, with energy savings that make the return on investment easy to justify to any council.
We specified IP65-rated fixtures, which is suitable for outdoor conditions and resistant to rain and humidity. Six fixtures were installed across the court, aligned to the existing pole positions to minimise disruption and keep installation clean and efficient.
Standard vs Stadium Grade — How We Decided
We're often asked whether a condominium should go for standard or stadium-grade LED. Our answer is always: it depends on how the court is used.
